Personality Super Traits as Correlates of Job Satisfaction among Lecturers in Tertiary Institutions in Rivers State

Abstract: The study investigated the personality super traits as correlates of job satisfaction among lecturers in tertiary institutions in Rivers State. The study was guided by five research questions and five null hypotheses tested at 0.05% level of significance. The study adopted the correlation and design. A sample of 305 lecturers was drawn from a population of 2, 400 lecturers in tertiary institutions in Rivers State through multistage sampling techniques. The instruments for data collection were personality trait scale (PTS) and job satisfaction scale (JSS) whose construct validity were tested using principal component analysis. The reliability coefficient was obtained through Cronbach alpha. The data collected were analyzed using descriptive statistics correlation and regression analysis. Pearson product moment correlation statistic was used to answer the research questions and independent t-test was used to test the null hypotheses 1-5. From the findings, it was discovered that the personality traits of extraversion and conscientiousness of lecturers were found to correlate negatively with their job satisfaction, while the personality traits of neuroticism, openness to experience and agreeableness of lecturers were found to be positively related to lecturers’ job satisfaction in the tertiary institutions in Rivers State. Based on the findings, recommendations were made.

Abstract (摘要)借助大型强子对撞机(LHC)的巨大能量夸克-胶子等离子体发现,为板块内部发生的大地震的震源点论爆炸说,可能带来陈顒院士介绍汶川地震能量相当于5600颗原子弹的能量潜力----因为氧元素的立方体量子卡西米尔效应“能源器”,虽类似“弱力能源粉药”,但也类似“暗物质能源粉药”。它作为大地震的震源机制,不是类似原子弹,而是类似氢弹爆炸----所有的其他地震因素,都只类似普通炸药,它才是主因“炸药”。由此水与氧有关,大地震与水有关,机制不是水的重量。

Abstract: <内容摘要>: 通过将1个氢原子作为模型和对比,可求出氢原子核上正电子对壳上负电子的电磁力Fe对原子核质量与壳上电子质量的引力Fg之比,即Fe/Fg = Ln = 2.27´1039 = 狄拉克大数,这是因为静电力和引力都同时作用在相同的电子和原子核上, 而有着同一个距离R迄今为止,物理学家们尚未找到原子核内强核力Fn的准确公式和数值。作者用求Ln的类比的方法,取某一个特殊的微黑洞Mbo = 0.71´1014g作为模型,利用其内部粒子全部夸克化的特性,于是2邻近核子(夸克)之间的强核力Fn与正负电子之间电磁力Fe共同作用在相同的夸克之上,由此可用对比和推论求Ln的方法,求Fn/Fe之比,可得出公式Fn/Fe = 1/α = 137.036 = 精密结构常数。下面是费曼论述精细结构常数(Fine-structure constant) 的一段话: Richard Feynman[ It has been a mystery ever since it was discovered more than fifty years ago, and all good theoretical physicists put this number up on their wall and worry about it... The Relationship between Apoprotein A and the Osmotic Fragility of red blood cells in HCV Cirrhotic patients

Abstract: Aim: To evaluate the relationship between Apolipoprotein A and osmotic fragility of red blood cells in HCV cirrhotic patients. Methods: We evaluated clinical, laboratory parameters, Apoprotein-A level, and osmotic fragility of red blood cells in patients with HCV cirrhosis, during the period between September 2015 and July 2016. Patients who had at admission renal failure, other causes of hemolytic anemia, hepatocellular carcinoma, sepsis, and/or active bleeding, other types of liver diseases not related to HCV e.g. HBV, autoimmune hepatitis, alcoholic, biliary, and other diseases; such as diabetes, hypertension were excluded. Fifty patients with HCV cirrhosis classified according to Child-Pugh classification, and ten controls were included. Results: We found a strong positive significant correlation (P value 0.000) between the Child-Pugh score and onset of hemolysis, hemolysis began in less hypotonic solution (earlier) in the RBCs of liver cirrhotic patients which shows the highly fragile nature of RBCs, a strong inverse significant correlation (P value 0.000) between the Child-Pugh score and the level of Apo-A, and a significant strong inverse correlation (P value 0.000) between the Apolipoprotein-A level and the start and the end of osmotic fragility of RBCs in HCV cirrhotic patients. Conclusion: The presence of increased osmotic fragility is due to lipid and Apolipoprotein A disturbances that may develop in patients with HCV cirrhosis.

Assessment Of Welfare And Health Related Problems Of Working Equines In Wogera District, Northern Ethiopia

Abstract: A cross-sectional study was conducted from November 2015 to April 2016 with the objective of assessing the welfare and health related problems and management activities on working equines in five selected kebeles of Wogera woreda. Both direct (animal based) and owner interview were used to collect data. Out 390 working equine comprising 246 (63.1%) donkeys, 108 (27.7%) horses and 36 (9.2%) mules were observed for the presence of wound lesions, ectoparasites and lameness. Among the observed equine 19.7%, 72.1% and 8.2% were used for draught, pack and ridden type of work, respectively. Across all species, 51.8 % of animals had a poor body condition score of less than 2; whereas 61.1% of horses and 51.6% of donkeys were in poor body condition. The wound prevalence in the present study area were Lesions resulting from limb/ leg sore (4.9%), lameness (20.7%), lesions affecting the lips (11.8%), girth/belly (13.1%), back/spine (24.3%) and Tail/tail base (4.9%) were most frequently observed lesions were significantly associated with species (p < 0.01). Few handlers were known to provide water (20.8%) and feed (30.5%) at market or working sites, but only few provided shelter at working sites. 43.4% of the respondents provided feed for horses once daily while 31.3%, 14.8% and 10.5 % of the respondents provided feed, two, three, or four times daily, respectively. In conclusion, working equines in the present study area were experiencing a compound health and welfare problems. Awareness creation through mass education, training and extension service should be promoted in the study area in order to ensure better equine welfare.

Abstract: 本质原理简单说,就是拓扑球量子的自旋自身有手征性,无须外环境影响去识别。道理类似指南针能定向,在地球各地除两极外,都能定向相同指向南方,是外环境地磁场貌似全域性,在地球各地除两极外,都能对指南针定向相同指向南方起作用。但离开地面、地球,指南针也就不起作用。即使地磁场也依赖地球自旋的手征性。而安培环形电流有磁场手征性,这个环量子又太小了。因此如果航天飞机或人造卫星离开地球,或在受磁性材料干扰的地方,用指南针定向是不适用的。但陀螺罗盘不需靠磁力线的作用,在宇宙太空能定向,是利用陀螺本身的多层自旋来定向的。而陀螺类似球量子,这种球量子自旋定向的原理,也能揭示自然界中自旋调制耦合功能的EPR效应普遍存在。量子引力通信也如此。

Effects of Varying Soaking Periods followed by Boiling on the Chemical Composition of Tropical Sickle Pod (Senna obtusifolia) Seeds

Abstract: A laboratory analysis was conducted to determine the effects of Varying soaking periods followed by boiling for one hour on the proximate composition, amino acid profile and levels of anti-nutritional factors of Senna obtusifolia seeds. The representative seed samples were subjected to different soaking periods of 0, 6, 12 and 24 hours followed by boiling each for one hour. Each representative sample was analysed in triplicates for the proximate composition, amino acid profile and levels of anti-nutritional factors using standard laboratory procedure. The results indicated a decreasing trend for the proximate composition, amino acid profile and level of anti-nutritional factors as the soaking period progresses. Crude protein for instance was observed to decrease from 25.33 to 21.86% crude fibre 11.77 to 6.18% and ash 4.11 to 2.17%. The amino acid contents and level of anti-nutritional factors indicated a similar reduction trend. Methionine and lysine decreased from 2.58 to 0.78g/100g and 1.18 to 0.41g/100g, respectively. While tannins and oxalates for instance decreased from 5.44 to 2.31g/100g and 1.95 to 0.39g/100g, respectively. It can be concluded that soaking for up to 24 hours followed by boiling for one hour is more effective in reducing the level of anti-nutritional factors with little depreciation on the nutritional qualities of Senna obtusifolia seed meal. It is also important to use the processed seeds in a feeding trial with a view to evaluate its feeding values in livestock.

Abstract: Bindings were made of wood or leather, strengthened with old papyrus sheets. Long thongs, completed with a decorated bone fastener could be tied around the book and protect it. In the Coptic Museum, the Nag Hammadi codices show a range of such bindings dating back to the 4th century CE. The Coptic Psalter found in a little girl’s grave, in the cemetery of al-Mudil, had leather binding with a looped-cross shaped bone peg. This is a very rare example of the art of making books in the 4th or 5th century CE. Bindings in the Pierpont-Morgan collection show the evolution of this art from the 5th to the 10th century. A codex of the Gospel of St. John, dated to CE 1100, was wrapped in a decorated leather binding, found in the coffin of a man, in the medieval Coptic cemetery at Naqlun.

Abstract摘要:地球的前身,是太阳內受到了向心力和离心力推挤摩擦出高温,将氢聚合成氦颗粒物体,在向心力作用下产生了涡旋加速向日核中心坠落,进入日核中心各种物质,被系统自旋就像滚雪球似地,将貭量聚合复制成一个个米粒状或球形如黑子。当黑子在恒星大分娩或是在大爆炸中脱离母体后到一定距离,球壳体表面逐步发生了冷却,形成了如地球的地壳、地幔、地核。又被两种不同作用力推挤摩擦发热极限时爆发了火山或地震等问题。

Cultivation of Oyster Mushroom (Pleurotus tuber-regium) on selected organic wastes

Abstract: Cultivation of OYSTER MUSHROOM (Pleurotus tuber-regium) on selected organic waste was carried out in the Microbiology Laboratory, Faculty of Science of the University of Port Harcourt. The study evaluated the effect of selected organic wastes on the growth and yield of Pleurotus tuber-regium (Fr. Singer). The organic wastes (Dry Substrates which include Maize cob, Cassava peelings, Plantain peelings and water melon pod) were used in the study. Experiments were carried out using Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 4 treatment and 3 replicates. Maize cob (T1) and Cassava peelings (T2) Supported very abundant mycelial growth and also the development of healthy fruit bodies of the fungus studied. Plantain peelings (T3) and water melon pod (T4) supported abundant and moderate mycelial growth of P. tuber-regium respectively but fruit bodies were not developed on them. In all parameters measured fruit bodies produced on T1 were better than those on T2 except in dry weight. In terms of average diameter of pileus on T1 it was 13.0cm while on T2 it was 10.2cm; average number of healthy fruit bodies formed on T1 was 20, on T2, 15: average height of stipe on T1 was 7.0cm and on T2, 5.1cm: average fresh weight of fruit bodies on T1 was 87.3g where as it was 85.0g on T2 but the dry weight of P. tuber-regium was 21.8g on both T1 and T2. The Biological efficiency (B.E) of P. tuber-regium produced on T1 was 8.7% and 8.5% on T2.Corn cobs and cassava peelings which are major agro wastes abundantly found in Nigeria, have been found to excellently support the mycelial growth and fruit body formation of pleurotus tuber-regium. P. tuber-regium a Nigerian edible mushroom is therefore recommended to both existing and intending mushroom farmers because of its good growth performance on various substrates.

The Effect of Great Middle East Plan on Foreign Policy of Islamic Republic of Iran

Abstract: Middle East has always been one of the major regions of the world prone to crisis for various reasons and has been attracted by great powers in the history of the world. Thus, any change in the political conditions of the region has been able to influence the whole world. One of the issues that policymakers of the world have been attended in recent years is Great Middle East plan by the United States of America. The study also seeks to analyze the causes of formation and how to perform effectively the Middle East plan on the countries in the region and analyzed the effects on national security of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Therefore, the main question is whether the Middle East plan will affect the strategy of the Islamic Republic's foreign policy or not. In order to answer this question, the main hypothesis is that the Great Middle East seems to be a great opportunity for Iran's foreign policy. In general, the Great Middle East plan is based on several major assumptions. First; it seeks to destroy the source and origin of extremism and terrorism in the Near East, the Middle East and North Africa which is regarded as a threat for the West National Interest and international security. Second, there are some other threat like the loss of freedom and democracy, low levels of knowledge, lack of scientific development, the unrighteous status of women and the dire situation of human rights. Thus, eliminating these menaces and the priorities of regional development policies should be focused on policy development by encouraging and guiding the country towards democracy liberal regimes and development of scientific and educational centers, economic liberalization and privatization. Altogether, the policies will be big challenges for all countries in the region.
