Abstract: A study was conducted to evaluate the proximate composition, amino acid profile and levels of anti-nutritional factors of Senna obtusifolia seeds subjected to varying fermentation periods. The seeds of Senna obtusifolia were naturally fermented for 0, 3, 5, 7 and 9 days, respectively. Each representative sample was analysed in triplicates for dry matter, crude protein, crude fibre, ether extract, nitrogen free extract, amino acids and levels of anti-nutritional factors using standard laboratory procedure. The results indicated an increasing trend as the fermentation period progresses for the protein (26.95 to 28.29%), ash (4.50 to 5.31%) and some amino acid content. Lysine and methionine for instance increased from 1.19 to 2.97% and 2.20 to 2.88%. As the fermentation period progresse, the crude fibre, nitrogen free extract, ether extract and anti-nutritional factors were observed to decrease. Crude fibre decreased from 11.17 to 4.23%, NFE 41.85 to 37.31% and ether extract 3.65 to 1.98%. Similarly, Tannins and oxalates for instance, decreased from 5.42 to 1.17 g/100g and 1.95 to 0.36 g/100g, respectively. It can be concluded that fermenting Senna obtusifolia seeds for up to 9 days has beneficial influence in improving the nutritional quality of Senna obtusifolia seeds. There is need to conduct further studies to investigate the effect of fermenting Senna obtusifolia seeds beyond nine (9) days.

Abstract: Becoming a teenage father can lead to negative consequences both to the young father and his offspring. It is important to understand the process that leads some young men into fatherhood while others delay it until they are developmentally ready. One possibility is that becoming a teen father is part of a more general deviant lifestyle. The purpose of this study was to explore and describe the perceptions of teenage boys on fatherhood. Qualitative, explorative, descriptive and contextual approaches were used. The researchers used one main question as a take-off point that is. ‘What are your perceptions on teenage fatherhood?’ More questions emerged from the discussion. Ten teenage fathers participated in the study. A snowballing sampling was used to collect data through one-to-one interview. The researchers strived to adhere to the principles of trustworthiness by adopting Guba’s model. Open coding method was used to analyze the data and an independent coder confirmed the themes that emerged. The results indicated that most of the teenagers were embarrassed and confused about being teenage fathers although they gained knowledge and responsibility of being teenage fathers. The study recommends that parents, teachers and health workers should teach the teenage boys about safe sex. The Department of Health must formulate relevant policy on teenage fatherhood and health workers must provide contraception for the teenage boys.

Abstract: This paper is about minimizing intercellular movements of parts for the formation of manufacturing cells using GA approach. GA is a search technique based on the process of biological evolution and has been applied as an optimization method for the formation of manufacturing cells. Different GA operators and their importance in the optimization of cellular manufacturing have been discussed. A MAT LAB code has been developed for the calculation of different matrices and fitness values of chromosomes. The initial population of possible solutions (chromosomes) is generated randomly and the fitness value of each chromosome is calculated using code developed for the purpose. The next population is generated by the application of genetic operators process is repeated till stopping criteria is satisfied. Total ten populations are generated by the GA procedure and fitness values of different generations have compared graphically with detailed analysis. It is evident that using GA has minimized the intercellular movements of parts which indirectly improves productivity, profitability and provide competitive edge to the manufacturing enterprise in global environment.

Abstract: Analyzing and predicting well production behavior is one of the critical tasks during designing subsurface production facilities. As a general practice, at a time one methodology is adopted to generate the production curves and with the passage of time as the history of the well becomes available it is also plotted on the same curves to have a history match and a reliable forecast. This practice requires a lot of time, as if the selected methodology proves wrong then another method have to be adopted and need to be verified at the same time. To overcome this time consuming and tedious practice a concept of parallel data generation using different methods at a time has been discussed with further modification in the existing methodologies by introducing a correlating function/ parameter.
