Abstract: Reovirus infections are actually related to a lot of disease conditions with different clinicalmanifestations. Reoviruses have been isolated from a variety of tissues in poultry, suffering from differentdisease conditions including viral arthritis/tenosynovitis, stunting syndrome, respiratory disease, entericdisease, immunosuppression and malabsorption syndrome. Economic losses related to reoviral infections arefrequently associated with increased mortality, viral arthritis/tenosynovitis and general lack of performance, including diminished weight gains, high feed conversionsuneven growth rates and reduced marketability ofthe affected birds. The resistance ofthe virus could be one of the reasons for such a high prevalence. This high prevalence put emphasis on thevaccination of the breeder flocks and shows the necessity of more studies on aspects of Reovirus.

Effect of spraying olive, garlic and clove oils on productivity and quality of superior seedless grapevine cultivar

Abstract During 2016 and 2017 seasons, Superior grapevines grown under Minia region conditions treated three times with oils of olive, clove and garlic each at 0.05 to 0.2%. The merit was examining the effect of these plant oils on growth, vine nutritional status, yield and berries quality. Varying types of oils had an announced differences on all the investigated parameters. Treating the vines three times with oils of olive, clove and garlic each at 0.05 to 0.2% resulted in great promotion on growth aspects, plant photosynthetic, NPKMg, yield and quality parameters over the control. The best oils were clove, olive and garlic, in ascending order. Material differences on the studied parameters were detected among the three oils. Increasing concentrations of each plant oil was followed by a gradual promotion on all growth aspects, pigments, NPKMg, yield and quality parameters, except total acidity that tended to reduce gradually. The best results with regard to yield and berries quality of Superior grapevines grown under Minia region conditions were obtained due to treating the vines via leaves with garlic oil at 0.1% three times.

Abstract: Birds are one of the most interesting and most colorful groups of animals, but they can also be a source of zoonotic factors dangerous for humans. This paper describes the threats to human health from contact with birds. The most vulnerable occupational groups associated with birds are veterinarians, owners of poultry farms, breeders of ornamental birdszoo personnel, and poultry slaughterhouse workers. In any case, where people have contact with birds or their droppings and secretions, special precautions should be taken. This way the negative effects of birds on human health can be minimized or eliminated. The occurrence of Zoonoses depends on a number of factors, among which are: the duration of exposure, virulence of the pathogen and its survival, route of infection and transmission, vectors, etc. Human health problems resulting from contact with birds are associated with bacterial, viral, fungal, and allergenic agents.

Lower Limb And Foot Dimensions And Their Correlations With Body Height In Adult Population Of Aswan Governorate

Abstract: Background: Estimation of an individual’s stature is useful in lowering down the missing person’s identity, besides sex, age and racial affiliation. This is essential when the body is found either dismembered, or even disintegrated. Objective: To construct a specific regression formula for estimating the stature using lower limb and foot dimensions in the Aswanian Egyptian population. Subjects and Methods: This cross sectional study included 1000 (500 males and 500 females) asymptomatic healthy adult students (18-22 years) from Aswan University. The parameters, measured to all subjects were body weight, stature, lower extremity length, leg length, foot length, and foot breadth, using standard measuring instruments. Results: The lower limb length, leg length, foot length and foot breadth were observed to have significant positive correlations with body height in both sexes, among the studied samples, as evidenced by Spearman’s correlation coefficient. A paired t-test showed no significant difference between actual stature and estimated stature. Conclusion: It was found that lower limb and foot parameters can be used as predictors of stature in both sexes, for adult Aswanian Egyptian students. This data is important in human identification and may give a significant indicator from body remnants for unknown individual in a population.

Abstract: Stem cells are derived from embryonic and non-embryonic tissues. Most stem cell studies are for animal stem cells and plants have also stem cell. Stem cells were discovered in 1981 from early mouse embryos. Stem cells have the potential to develop into all different cell types in the living body. Stem cell is a body repair system. When a stem cell divides it can be still a stem cell or become adult cell, such as a brain cell. Stem cells are unspecialized cells and can renew themselves by cell division, and stem cells can also differentiate to adult cells with special functions. Stem cells replace the old cells and repair the damaged tissues. Embryonic stem cells can become all cell types of the body because they are pluripotent. Adult stem cells are thought to be limited to differentiating into different cell types of their tissue of origin. This article introduces recent research reports as references in the related studies.

Comparison of Worry, Psychological Distress and Social Adjustment of Mothers of Autistic Children and Hyperactive Children in Kerman

Abstract: Current research aims at comparing the level of worry, psychological distress, and social adjustment in mothers of children with autism and hyperactive children in Kerman. The statistical population of research included all mothers of children with autism and mothers of hyperactive children who had cases in the treatment centers of these disorders in Kerman. The sample consisted of 140 people (70 mothers with autistic children and 70 mothers with hyperactivity disorder children) who were selected by convenient sampling method; Bell Social Response Questionnaire, Kessler's Psychological Distress Questionnaire, and Penn State Worry Questionnaire (PSWQ) were completed by the mothers. Following data analysis using multivariate analysis of variance, the results of the research hypotheses showed that the mothers of autistic children were more worried compared to the mothers of overactive children, the mothers of autistic children had more psychological distress than mothers of hyperactive children, as well as mothers of autistic children showed less social adjustment than mothers of hyperactive children.

An Evaluation Of Fungicidal Capacity Of Ethanol Extract Of Vernonia amygdalina (DELL) On Yam Tuber (Dioscorea rotundata Poir) Rot

Abstract: The fungicidal activities of Vernonia amygdalina extracts were evaluated on the rot causing pathogens of yam tubers in vitro. The ethanol extracts of V. amygdalina were prepared and 1ml of the extract was dispensed into plate and allowed to solidify along with molten PDA. The isolated rot organisms: Botryodiplodia theobromae, Aspergillus niger, Aspergillus flavus and Aspergillus glaucus from rotten yam tubers were inoculated and incubated separately for 5days, inhibition was determined by measuring with metre rule along two perpendicular lines drawn at the bottom of the plate. The results showed that all the concentrations of the extracts had remarkable reduction effects on radial mycelial growth of the isolates. Ethanol extracts of 10% and 20% of V. amygdalina at 10g and 20g/100ml inhibited A. niger and B. theobromae by 92.95 and 97.14% respectively, similarly, ethanol extracts of 30% of V. amygdalina at 20 and 30g/100ml inhibited A. flavus by 100%. Ethanol extracts of 40% of V. amygdalina at 50g/100ml inhibited B. theobromae by 92.38 %, ethanol extracts of 50% of V. amygdalina at 50g/100ml inhibited B. theobromae by 90.48%. The results from this finding herald the appealing fortunes of a potentially viable antifungal agent of plant source.

The Beneficial Effects of Spraying Ethrel and Absicic Acid on Quality of Flame Seedless Grapes

Abstract: During 2017 and 2018 seasons clusters of Flame seedless grapevines grown under Minia region conditions were subjected to Ethrel at 240 to 480 ppm and / or protone (10% ABA) at 200 to 400 ppm. The merit was examining the effect of these materials on advancing maturation of berries and enhancing colouration and quality of the berries. Treating the clusters with Ethrel and/ or protone (10% ABA) was very effective in advancing maturation of the berries and enhancing berries colouration and chemical quality of the berries relative to the control treatment. Using Ethrel at 480 ppm was superior than using protone at 200 and 300 ppm on advancing maturation and enhancing chemical quality of the berries. Moreover, using Ethrel at 240 to 360 ppm plus protone at 200 to 400 ppm was favourable than using each alone in this respect. The best treatment was exposing the clusters of Flame seedless grapevines to Ethr el at 360 ppm and protone at 300 ppm (10% ABA) once at veraison stage.

Effect of Spraying Seaweed Extract on Fruiting of Sakkoti Date Palms

Abstract: This study was carried out during 2017 and 2018 seasons to examine the effect of spraying seaweed extract once, twice, or thrice at 0.05 to 0.2 % on some vegetative growth characteristics, nutritional status of the palms, yield and fruit quality of Sakkoti date palms. Treating the palms once, twice or thrice with seaweed extract at 0.05 to 0.2% was accompanied with enhancing all growth characteristics, total chlorophylls, total carotenoids N, P, K and Mg, initial fruit setting %, fruit retention %, yield, bunch weight as well as physical and chemical characteristics of the fruits over the check treatment. The promotion on these parameters was in proportional to the increase in concentrations and number of sprays. All characteristics were unaffected by increasing concentrations from 0.1 to 0.2% and frequencies from twice to thrice. The best results with regards to yield and fruit quality of Sakkoti date palms grown under Aswan region were obtained due to treating the palms twice with seaweed extract at 0.1%.
